Historical Activities Of NPDTTAN

Organizing National Para-TT Championship Since 2014:

Each year, with support from Nepal’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Physical Disabled Table Tennis Association of Nepal (NPDTTAN) hosts the National Open Para-TT Championship. The event continues to grow, with 70 participants this year competing in international classification categories (T1 to T10).

Founded by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and supported by the Nepal Sports Council, the championship promotes inclusivity and empowerment. At the event’s close, Chief Guest and Secretary General of the National Sports Council, Mr. Yuvraj Lama, praised the success and promised increased funding and accessible sports infrastructure for the future.

Creating Awareness On Society Since 2013:

Since 2015, we have been actively working to raise awareness and advocate for inclusivity in society. We have reached over 30 schools, educating students and communities about the importance of involving people with disabilities in sports.

Additionally, we have organized various awareness campaigns and proudly represented the Nepal Para Table Tennis Association (NPDTTAN) in numerous community tournaments, fostering greater understanding and participation.

Accepting The Challenge:

At our organization, we believe motivation, inspiration, and exposure are essential for every player’s success. That’s why we host an exciting unofficial event every Saturday, where the best players get the chance to shine in front of a large, enthusiastic crowd.

These events aren’t just about showcasing talent – they also bring together sports leaders to discuss the future of Para Table Tennis and build connections among sports lovers. Plus, we use these gatherings to raise funds from local VIPs for player training and organizational activities, helping to elevate both skill and confidence. We also invite professional coaches to engage with players, offering expert guidance and learning opportunities to further boost their development

Providing Regular Training:

Training is essential for all athletes, especially for individuals with disabilities who face unique challenges. We offer regular training sessions for people with disabilities across various age groups, with a focus on empowering girls and children. Currently, 10 girls, 10 children, and 10 young players attend our daily sessions.

Recognizing the challenges of training athletes with disabilities, we invest in professional development for our coaches. Our team includes 4 qualified coaches, including ITTF-PTT Level 1 and NS licensed coaches, a disability sports coach trained in Japan, and a junior coach dedicated to Para-TT players.

Their dedication and skill help ensure that our athletes receive top-notch training, setting a strong foundation for success on both national and international platforms.
